The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Poweshiek County Sheriff confirmed that the teenage body was found around 2pm Thursday.

Officials said a local farmer was out in the field service when he saw human remains.

DCI said they found clothes that were similar to those worn by 11-year-old Xavior Harrelson when she went missing, although they did not identify her as Xavior.

Xavior passed away on May 27. Authorities said he was last seen riding his bicycle in Montezuma, where he lived with his mother.

Xavior passed away a few days before his eleventh year. A neighbor declared him missing.

In August, his mother, Sarah Harrelson, told authorities she did not know where he was.

“I just want her to be found,” Harrelson said in her first interview since the loss of her son. Harrelson said he remained silent publicly for the time being due to anxiety and stress.

On September 9, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation received a directive that led them to explore the Fox Forest County Recreation Area.

DCI told KCCI that they interviewed hundreds of people during the investigation and continued discussions with Sarah Harrelson.

The award for information on Xavience is approximately $ 33,000 from September 21st.

Mollie Tibbetts’ mother donated money to Xavi’s fund. Tibbetts passed away in 2018 and his remains were found in rural Poweshiek County later that summer.

Many fundraisers and Xavior search have been organized over the past few months.

Three months after Xavior’s death, an Action Day was scheduled. Iowans was asked to do three things to help spread the word about Xavior’s case.

Check back at KCCI for updates as the issue grows.
