Republicans, Schumer says it is ‘time’ for Biden to open Canadian border after months of vaccination

The DRM Republican Republican and a senior Democrat in the Senate said President Biden’s decision on Tuesday to reopen the US-Canada border was “delayed” after months of pressure from regional borders and an influx of vaccines in the two countries.

“For too long, residents of the North Country have been denied family access, travel, and trade. Now, families can be reunited and our small businesses will be restored,” House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, RN.Y., said. . Its territory includes most of northern New York and a large part of the border with Canada.

“This is a slow step, however it is an important first step in building confidence in our cross-border relationship and friendship with our fellow Canadians,” Stefanik said.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, also hit the Biden manager for how long the border remained closed, even after Canada opened its border with Americans.

US OPENING MONTHS NEXT MONTHS VACCINATED

“Today’s announcement has been delayed until the good news of the Mainers is deeply saddened to be with their Canadian relatives on holiday celebrations, family feasts, and other important events,” Collins said. “I continued to urge the US to release its border restrictions, and when Canadian officials began allowing vaccinated Americans to enter their country in August, I urged the Department to return with the requirements and protections.”

Even Senate President Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., criticized the president for his failure to allow Canadians to enter the United States for months after Canada opened its border to Americans.

“As Canada prepares to open the border next month, the United States is failing to recover, undermining the slow recovery of thousands of businesses, families, and communities in the U.S. state of New York,” Schumer said in July.

Now Wednesday, Schumer is still submitting a veiled criticism to the president over how long it would take to open the border.

IN THE MOUNTAIN THE PROBLEM IS AFFECTING ADULTS, PEOPLE ARE AS VERY IMPORTANT

“Kudos to President Biden for doing well and expanding cross-border routes between Canada and the US The coastal defenses have opened up on each side of the border and have opened the door to smooth transit across borders and will further regenerate economic power.

He added: “In the near future, the partnership between New York and our northern neighbors will be strengthened, family reunification, business strengthened, and the end of a grueling process of waiting for everyone involved.”

Tuesday’s ruling announced by Homeland Security (DHS) Department Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will allow full-fledged Canadians to enter the United States through entry points in November. The same applies to the Mexican border, although Republicans have criticized management that hundreds of thousands of foreigners have crossed the border in recent months even though it was closed out.

“In line with the new national aviation program to be implemented in November, we will begin to allow travelers from Mexico and Canada who have been injected with COVID-19 into the United States for trivial reasons, including visiting friends or family, by crossing the international border,” Mayorkas said in a statement.
