McAuliffe: GOP rally agreement for January 6 flag was ‘national dog whistle’

“He has to come out today and say it’s wrong to make a Pledge of honor for that flag, and I want him to come out and say [the] January. 6 The rebellion was terrible, ”McAuliffe added.

Although Youngkin was absent from Wednesday’s meeting, former Trump administration manager Steve Bannon spoke to the public. Trump also addressed the crowd, telling passersby that “Glenn Youngkin is a great gentleman,” before reviewing his long-running allegations that last year’s presidential election was rigged.

“We won in 2016. We won in 2020 – the most corrupt elections in the history of our country, probably one of the most corrupt anywhere. But we are going to win again, ”said the former president, repeating the unpublished statements.

On Thursday, McAuliffe’s campaign advertised the Yeykinkin campaign for Trump’s call. The statement outlined the so-called “Trump-Youngkin agenda,” covering issues such as public education, contraception and abortion in Virginia.

“Glenn Youngkin has reiterated that he is in the midst of Donald Trump’s dangerous, divisive, ideological agenda and that his main focus is bringing Trump’s plan to Virginia,” McAuliffe said.

To run the race, the governor’s running mate Winsome Sears, was scheduled to address the meeting but left before the program, according to The Washington Post.

Youngkin distanced himself from the incident and criticized the deal on Thursday afternoon, as it were video from WUSA9’s Bruce Leshan.

“I’m not involved and so I don’t know,” Youngkin said. “But if that is the case, then we must not promise loyalty to that flag. … I was very clear: There is no place for violence, no, no, in America today. ”

Spokesmen from the Youngkin campaign have responded to an email request to speak with steps that reflect Youngkin’s history on the issue, including an Axios article in which Youngkin said he would have confirmed the 2020 election.

“Terry McAuliffe was the only candidate in the race who falsely claimed that the election was rigged – he insisted that George W. Bush was the president is legitimate, ”he said. Youngkin Macaulay Porter’s spokesman said in a tweet.
