Los Gatos mother accused of throwing drunken sex parties for high school students

A 44-year-old woman from Los Gatos, Calif., Faces a number of high-profile cases of high school drunkenness and sexual misconduct among young people, officials said.

Shannon O’Connor, also known as Shannon Bruga and now living in Idaho, allegedly “bought vodka and Whiteball whiskey, gave condoms, and discouraged young people from telling their parents about parties or calling for help when one of them died.”

He allegedly lured teenagers to his home in the middle of the night over SnapChat and text messages, and warned them not to drop out of parties or he could go to jail, released by the Santa Clara County Attorney’s Office.

The parties held from 2020 to the beginning of this year were mostly attended by 14- to 15-year-olds, and it was common for young people to drink until the time of vomiting and passing, the release said.


O’Connor has been charged with 39 counts, including child abuse, sexual assault, and giving alcohol to minors. He faces imprisonment if convicted.

“It took a lot of brave children to come forward and release this disturbing case,” Santa Clara Rosen’s lawyer said in a statement. “As a parent, I was shocked. As the DA, I am determined to catch adults who put children at full risk for being accountable to the law and our community. ”

O’Connor faces charges of fraud in connection with a $ 20,000 tax evasion card that was issued to him by a company affiliate of Aruba Networks, the district attorney said.

A statement from the District Attorney’s Office described a number of incidents at a wild party allegedly thrown by O’Connor at his home.

At one party, he allegedly handed a teenager a condom and pushed her into a room with a drunken child. In one incident involving a five-year-old 14-year-old, a plaintiff watched with laughter as a drunken teenager slapped a girl on the bed, DAt another case said, allowing a minor to drive his SUV in a Los Gatos High School parking lot while two other teenagers held their backs. Another fell and was knocked unconscious, the District Attorney’s Office said.
