GOP Senators Hit Report On Weak Jobs, Biden’s Talk Of “Progress”

Republican senators, including possible presidential candidates, have blown the latest disappointing job report as well as President Biden’s efforts to portray the shortage as part of “progress.”

The September job report showed the economy added 194,000 jobs – well below the expected 500,000 new jobs. Republicans have largely focused on the dual benefits for the unemployed and various mandates that limit eligibility for some jobs.

No one spared criticism of Biden or his policies, and Senator Lindsey Graham, RS.C., said the government had “thrown a wet blanket over job creators.”

ANDY PUZDER: BID A TEAM, IF YOU WANT BETTER JOB NUMBERS, STOP WORKING OUT

Senate Republican Conference Chairman Senator John Barrasso, R-Wyo., Told FOX Business that “The Biden economy is failing Americans who want to get back to work and leave the virus behind.”

“President Biden got a winning hand with three safe and effective vaccines and he screwed it up,” argued Barrasso. “America’s economic recovery is crippled by Joe Biden’s high spending, high taxes, and socialist policies.”

“The months of disappointing job reports are a direct result of President Biden’s failed policies,” Senator Tim Scott, RS.C., told FOX Business. “This administration’s plan to pay people for non-work and onerous mandates has crippled our economy at a time when middle-class Americans are already struggling to afford basic necessities due to inflation.”

WORKFORCE COULD ONLY TURN FAST FOOD INTO DRIVE-THRU

Biden claimed the US had made “consistent and steady progress” with unemployment falling below 5% for the first time since he took office. He advocates results from the Ministry of Labor that the number of layoffs and downsizing is “the lowest in the country since 1997”.

The Republicans, however, did not accept Biden’s side of the story. Ranking member of the Senate Joint Economic Committee Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, noted that jobs are currently 5 million below pre-pandemic levels.

Senator Rick Scott, R-FL, announced that “Joe Biden and the Washington Democrats are knocking America off a cliff.”

LARRY KUDLOW: THE JOBS REPORT WAS BETTER THAN PEOPLE SAY

“This job report shows what employers across the country have been saying for months: The labor shortage is getting worse,” Senator Tom Cotton, R-Ark., Told FOX Business. “The Biden government should abandon their new entitlement programs, restore the work demands they gutted in their March shopping spree, and get people back to work.”

“This is just further proof that Joe Biden’s anti-worker agenda is in action,” said Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo. “Instead of the recovery we desperately need, Biden has given us fewer jobs, higher prices and a rampant one Given inflation. It is time for the president to give up his fake culture war and get America back to work. “

The September report was the first since the $ 300-a-week additional unemployment benefit expired on September 5. Economists are still evaluating the impact of the child tax credit, which pays families up to $ 3,600 per child per year. The mandatory vaccine requirements enforced by a growing number of companies will continue to have an impact in the future.
