Evans Food Group recalls imported pork products without inspection

WASHINGTON, October 14, 2021 Evans Food Group Ltd., a subsidiary in Chicago, Illinois, is recalling approximately 10,359 pounds of pork pellet products that have not been presented for re-importation into the United States, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said today.

The pork pellet products were imported on September 15, 2021 and processed into pork rind and Chicharrones items. The products affected by the recall are listed here.

The products affected by the recall bear the company number “EST. 6030 “USDA-approved. These items have shipped to retail locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Washington.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS monitoring activities of imported products.

There are no confirmed reports of side effects from consuming these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should see a doctor.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be found in consumer pantries. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness reviews to ensure that recalling companies are responding to their Customers of the recall and that steps are being taken to ensure the product is no longer available to consumers.
