President Biden pleaded with his split party on Saturday to come together for more than a billion dollars in spending – assuring Democrats that his pricing plan “wins the 21st century.”
“My message is silly: we want to live together, and we are bound by the values we have as a party,” Biden said in a three-minute pre-press message released on Saturday at a Democratic National Committee meeting.
“Because here’s the deal: we won 2020 as a coalition,” Biden said. “And we look forward to 2022, as we do that, we need to stay united.”
Biden did not name Senate keepers Joe Manchin (DW.V.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.), His refusal to raise $ 300,000 to spend – or Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) Two in a hot news conference this week exposed the split of Democrats.
But he assured the party that he was confident that his budget, if approved, would be commended to the future – even though some Democrats were worried that its price would rise and a sharp increase in government could give them Congress money in last year’s elections.
“If we get today to the board,” Biden vowed, “fifty years from now people will look back and say this is the time, this was the time, America won the 21st century.”
