LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WDRB) – An Evansville family seeks legal aid after their attorney says the family, including a four- and five-year-old, was given the COVID-19 vaccine instead of the flu shot, a report by FOX 59.
According to attorney Dan Tuley, the family went to the Walgreens on St. Joe Monday to get the flu vaccine but were instead given four doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. Tuley says the parents received a phone call from the pharmacy 90 minutes later telling them that a mistake had been made.
Tuley says the parents, who have not yet been identified, contacted the CDC and health officials. Parents say their children are currently sick. They also said they were told by a pediatric cardiologist that the children had heart problems after receiving the injections.
Walgreens said they cannot comment on certain patient events, but such cases are rare and they have reviewed their multi-step vaccination process with their pharmacy staff to prevent such incidents.
No lawsuit had been filed as of Saturday.
