KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City family showed a woman in three murders on Saturday as Johnnai Owens.
Two unidentified men were also killed.
Kansas City Police said it happened near Spruce Avenue and East 27th On the road.
Police said they were called around four to be shot and it turned into a phone call.
Owen’s family said they did not see this coming.
“They only had 10 minutes and the Black SUV was driving down the road shooting 7 to 10 guns,” William King, Owen’s grandfather, said.
King said Owens was preparing to have sex with a friend when he was shot.
“I’m still wondering right now,” King said. “It’s a horrible experience.”
King said he was at church when it happened.
He came to the scene of the crime to see what was going on and did not know that it had anything to do with his grandson.
Owen’s family claimed to have known the two men who shot him.
Kansas City Police are trying to figure out why they were shot.
“I mean this is a good Saturday afternoon and it’s just completely ruined by what happened on this post,” said Jake Becchina, Kansas City Police Spokesperson, he said.
Police do not know how many detainees are involved or how they fled the area.
Owen’s family hopes that they will find the answer.
“If anyone can help us, please help us,” King said.
The family set up a GoFundMe account for Owen’s funeral expenses.
